About Violet

Violet is a multipotentialite.

Early life and career

Violet’s father was a musician and played regularly with his band. Having a recording studio in the basement of her home, the presence of music was an everyday norm. Violet had a love of music from a young age and took the stage with her father’s band for the first time at the age of five. Having a love of dance she often emulated the latest dance moves by picking them up from watching her favorite shows such as American Bandstand, Solid Gold and Soul Train. Anytime that a music awards show came on the television Violet was front and center to watch and learn. When it came to listening to the radio Violet tuned into Casey Kasem’s Top 40 Countdown. Listening to the radio Violet would sing along with her favorite female artists such as- Donna Summer, Pat Benatar, En Vogue, and  Chaka Khan to name a few. Once MTV was introduced it became her go-to source for dance inspiration as well as music listening. Violet’s top 4 favorite artists are: Prince, Madonna, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson.

Over the years she continued her love affair with music. She has experience as a lead singer and as a backup singer. Appearing onstage singing at popular Nashville nightspots. Violet honed her stage presence and emcee abilities as a Karaoke/DJ business owner by hosting private parties and corporate events. She has expanded her knowledge into various areas of the multimedia industry by pursuing degrees at her local college. She gained experience as an on air radio personality hosting her own radio show titled, “Aura Hour” on her college radio station playing funk, pop and r&b hits of today and yesterday. Violet has been a brand ambassador for several companies and was the face of Performance Cosmetics in Nashville, Tennessee. She appeared on CMT’s Ultimate Coyote Ugly Search. In 2009 she produced a calendar in which she played many roles such as the model, location scout, makeup, hair and wardrobe stylist. Her love of the beauty industry led her to acquire a Tennessee Cosmetology License. Violet is comfortable in front of the camera but also enjoys being behind the camera. She has received recognition for her photography work and her images have also been published. Her breadth of knowledge has been garnered from real life experience as well as from her college studies. As you can see from her list of experiences her talent has not gone unnoticed. Violet takes pride in being labeled a multipotentialite. Violet has an invitational attitude and she will always be a student of life. Searching and seeking to expand her life and experiences by creating things that speak to others in their theater of the mind.
